Part 9 - Contrast

Very important is to have a background that is rich in contrast to the motive.

A light background color calls for a dark main motive in the picture.

In case the background is quite dark, it should be the lightest part of the picture, the viewer should put his eye to at first.

Rule 10 - Closing Cap

Okay, we could not really miss out this part, since here there often lays the reason for mistakes, mostly amateurs are affected. (At this point you should not really call yourself an amateur anymore, should you?)

Let us just start simple: Don`t you ever forget to use the closing cap. The best trip to Thailand will turn out to be the best adventure at home, if you have to find out, that all of your 20 films are full of black.

"My thumb in Africa, and here it is in Egypt..." - And also please don`t forget, to keep all body parts out of the field you wish to take a photo of.

The best would be, you get used to a bearing, that guarantees you a free view to the objects you really want to have on that picture.
